RebuildingLA started the simplest way most meaningful things do — as a pet project born out of love for our city.

Back in 2016, Los Angeles was constantly changing around us. Neighborhoods evolving, buildings rising, communities rebuilding themselves in visible and invisible ways. We wanted to pay attention to that. We wanted to document it. We wanted to celebrate it.

So we started small — with an Instagram account, sharing photos, stories, and moments that reflected the resilience, creativity, and energy of Los Angeles. No big plan. No agenda. Just curiosity, care, and a deep appreciation for the city we call home.

What began as a passion project slowly grew into something bigger.

As more people connected with the content, RebuildingLA evolved into a media and storytelling platform focused on the rebuilding, development, and future of Los Angeles — its communities, culture, architecture, and people. Not tied to any single event or disaster, but grounded in the idea that LA is always rebuilding, redefining, and moving forward.

We love this city — its complexity, its contradictions, its grit, and its beauty. RebuildingLA exists to document that ongoing story through images, conversations, and community-driven perspectives.

At its core, RebuildingLA is about paying attention, telling honest stories, and highlighting the people and places shaping Los Angeles — past, present, and future.
